I am soooooo excited now that I have received my complete Encha Organic Matcha.
I mentioned this brand back when I did a post about matcha and all the different kinds there are and the benefits you get from it. (For the Love Of: Matcha)
I basically had to buy the whole set again since I lost the other one during my move from LA to SD, and I think I’m even more excited this time around than when I first got it. This one has a little bamboo tray you put your bowl and whisk over and it looks super cute.
I have 3 ways of enjoying my organic matcha.
WHEN I WANT SOMETHING HOT & COZY
For this, I just stick to the traditional ceremonial recipe (my fav)
- 1 serving of Encha Organic Matcha Ceremonial grade
- 5 oz. water (boiled water rested for 3 min. approx. 160 F)
How do I make it?
- In a matcha whisking bowl, add water.
- Add 1 serving of ceremonial grade matcha
- With a bamboo whisk held vertically, whisk in an “I” form back and forth. Then proceed to whisk in a “W” form back and forth *remember to use your wrist not your arm. RELAX the shoulders! (15. sec each whisk)
- RELAX AND ENJOY HOT
WHEN I WANT SOMETHING SWEET
- 1 serving of Encha Organic Matcha Latte grade
- 3 oz. water (hot or cold)
- 1 cup coconut milk (or almond if you don’t like the coconut taste)
- 1 tsp brain octane (optional)
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon (as much or little as you want I use a lot)
- Stevia or any preferred sweetener to taste
How do I make it?
- I like to prepare my matcha first. I use 3 oz. of hot or cold water and dissolve 1 matcha serving with the bamboo whisk. *You can completely skip this part if you don’t have the whisk and just use a blender or an electric frother. I like to keep it traditional.
- If you decide to add brain octane and sweeteners I recommend blending or using a frother so it homogenizes properly. Blend milk of choice with brain octane until fully incorporated
- Once the matcha is well dissolved, I add ice to a glass and pour it first.
- Finally, I add the coconut milk and mix with a straw or spoon
- ENJOY
Note:I pour the matcha and milk separately to get the 2-color effect, but when I am in a rush or don’t mind it being all together I pour everything into the blender. Fast and easy.
WHEN I WANT SOMETHING FRESH AND ENERGETIC
This is my favorite way to enjoy matcha before, during, and after my workout. It gives me so much energy and keeps me hydrated and refreshed.
- 1 serving of matcha ceremonial/latte grade matcha
- 8oz. water extra cold
- Juice of one lemon
- Mint & lemon slices (optional)
How do I make it?
- In a portable water bottle add water first
- Then, add the matcha and close the water bottle
- Shake vigorously for about 15-20 sec. or until matcha is completely dissolved. *Make sure you add the water first so you do not get clumped up matcha at the bottom of the bottle.
- Add lemon juice, lemon slices, and mint. (optional)
Enjoy on a hot day or as an energy drink before and during your workout!
